Wheww! The Holiday's are over!

O boy! Sweet treats, Lots o' food, family and friends...hustle and bustle..I am sure glad to be relaxing. The holidays are over. Now it's time to gear up for Wedding season. I have much to do in the next couple of months. January is build the business month for me. flyers, postcards, business cards...a lot of advertising. February is a big month for engagements...gotta have those pics to commemorate...and then of course: my first wedding shoot of the year is the end of march! I can't wait! Im hoping to book many more by the time year is at it's end again. I have a feeling 2011 is going to go by super fast. Thank goodness for those pictures that make time stand still. "Happy Birthday"

Well, it's been a few days I guess....welcome back to me! I was thinking.... a year ago I began this journey with very little hope that anything would come of it. Now, after re-locating back to AZ - I have found a new light. A light of hope, A light of faith, A light of a new beginning. Thanks to being around old friends and making new friends I see the positive light of what I started. I am so thankful that what I started has made me become a person of my own interest. In a professional aspect, I am learning to appreciate my own talent. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think I'm "all that" but I believe that one day...I will be. I'm not out to conquer the world with my pictures...but I am out to conquer my own insignificance and inferior complex...oh yeah, and doing what I really love doing doesn't hurt. I am so excited to see what year 2 brings. Happy Birthday to Jana Carter Photography....1 year old today.

Searching....

It's important to know that when you are searching in your soul that you look beyond your imperfections and those of others. Today...all I wanted to do was look for something. Some way to get the negative thoughts out of my head and search for the good in what I do. I love what I do. I love finding the simplicity in things, the beauty in others. Open your mind and let creativity flow. You never know what you will find when you just look around the room. Today, I found a few things in my closet and after I looked through my lens, I found a certain beauty that wasn't there before. Keep searching my friends for the beauty in everything.
